I took the step towards a professional reconversion in no-code web development with the webflow tool. Discover my career path!
Hello the community!
Digiteam now has a watergirl on its team who is all about challenges and is positive only
👇🏾
1. Anna: the French-Salvadorian Touch
Born in El Salvador during a civil war that lasted a little over 12 years, I was lucky enough to be adopted by a family from Lille. Passionate about water sports, I practice kitesurfing, wing-foil, stand-up-paddle and surf 🏄🏾♀️. Based in the Basque Country for 8 years, I have an incredible playground between sea and mountains where I also practice trail running. This region allows me to reconcile my sports passion and my work on a daily basis.
2. My career path and professional reconversion
2.1 My first professional experiences
I started working at a young age and I wanted to be autonomous in order to go to my country of origin. I passed my Bafa at the age of 17, which allowed me to work before my baccalaureate. Then, once I had my baccalaureate, I went to work as a salesperson in the ready-to-wear industry and I had the opportunity to work for a real estate group managing student rentals.
After these first professional experiences I went in search of my origins, but that's another story.
2.2 My experience in the medical sector
I have a grandmother who used to take me regularly to the streets of Lille to spend time with homeless people (listening, eating, giving clothes). I think I have always wanted tohelp and take care of others. So I trained to be anurse 💊whichis exciting. However, after a while I realized that I no longer had the weapons/shoulders to be a sponge, able to absorb emotions, loneliness, accompany patients at the end of life and the amplitude of work can sometimes be difficult to reconcile with our personal life.
It was time to turn the page and give back my blouse...
2.3 My reconversion in web development
I decided to retrain following a sick leave for a malleolar fracture.
It was a time in my career when I was thinking a lot about my patients who died while I was sleeping and I realized that I had an appetite for web development. Being of an active nature, I launched myself into the gold mine of resources available on the internet (Moocs, tutorials) to imagine the decoration of my home and with the desire to create a website to rent it.
This injury and this time of reflection were not a coincidence, it was my trigger, I had to take action!
3. Training in web development: code/no code
3.1 My code training
I followed a bootcamp type training in web and mobile web development full stack speciality React. It covers html, css, javascript, react-redux in front-end and back-end. Then, it seemed important to me to have skills in the control of quality in web projects ( Opquast training). In this field there is a constant evolution and my curiosity led me to be interested in other tools and web technologies.
3.2 My training in No Code tools
I discovered no code tools by chance while doing some monitoring and I didn't hesitate one second to train myself by financing a bootcamp to discover the no code tool Bubble (web application creation tool). This allowed me to have an objective opinion on the subject→ no code is a time saver for the developer, without limits! My professional project evolved very naturally, I wanted to become a no-code developer!
3.3 My final training
This path led me to the No Code Webflow tool which caught my eye, with its intuitive and beautiful interface. I have an affinity with the front-end, so I decided to learn webflow by myself since El Salvador.
Following this career transition in web development, I joined the Digidop team in early October 2022 as a Webflow developer 👩🏾💻. The adventure started with a week of team building in Bordeaux which allowed us to meet each other and to have this team cohesion which seems to me essential. I will not fail to tell you about my integration in this male team...
4. My goals
4.1 Web development
I want to become an expert webflow developer by designing quality websites(#Digicalidad), having the satisfaction of meeting customer expectations, but also developing the best user experience possible.
4.2 Personnel
Eventually, I would like to be able to work asynchronously by spending more time in El Salvador, where I have decided to get involved with the population (children, isolated women, access to healthcare). There is a big human project there and I want to use my digital skills to contribute to social actions.
5. An ambitious but feasible project
You should not be afraid to leave your job, your knowledge, your comfort zone. Our skills and knowledge can be used in other fields.
In twenty years, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did. So cast off, get out of the harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Mark Twain
This quote speaks to me a lot and accompanies me in my reflections during my life projects.
I sincerely believe that I have found the right team to accompany me in this reconversion, to progress, evolve and increase my skills. The Digiteam is ultra dynamic, conscientious and stimulating and will challenge me daily.
I am proud to be the first Digidop'euse and I hope there will be more!
