There are many types of programming languages. HTML, CSS and JavaScript are just a few examples. Today we will take a closer look at one of the most popular languages: Javascript and Jquery!

Key points to remember

There are manydifferent types ofprogramming languages. For example, websites use HTML, CSS and JavaScript to function properly. If you have read our article on CSS and HTML, you now know that :

  • The html language designates the elements (form, heading, button) of a website
  • The css language combines the styles 'colour, size, etc' and dynamically shapes the design of your site.

Let's go today to discover a new language: Javascript.

The Javascrpit code

JavaScript is a scripting language that can be used to add interactivity and customization to Web pages and software applications. JavaScript is mostly used to add functionality to Web pages, such as automated actions. It is a programming language that runs directly in the browser.

JavaScript has a syntax composed of a series of characters and symbols.

But then, what's the difference with Jquery? Jquery is a code library that helps you add animations to the web more easily!

Jquery

jQuery is a fast and feature-rich JavaScript library. It greatly simplifies many different operations on HTML documents, such as DOM traversal and manipulation, event handling, animations and Ajax. Thanks to its easy-to-use, cross-browser API, jQuery has become one of the most popular ways to use JavaScript.

How to use Jquery?

Jquery provides a way to detect events and execute custom code when one of these events occurs. There are two ways to integrate Jquery data into your site.

I present you the one I know best, the integration by function "src="
