Answers to frequently asked questions about blog posts

Now that you've seen our figures, you too may want tooptimise your inbound marketing with a well-oiled content strategy. We answer 3 common questions from our readers, or clients writing articles (optimised for SEO)

How to write a good blog post?

To write a good blog post, there is no magic bullet. But... there are a few ingredients that give you a better chance of writing a good article.

  • Talking about a subject you know a lot about: this may seem obvious, but you will make the difference with other articles from other sites if you talk about a subject you are an expert in. Google likes to highlight content that is relevant and has added value. The best way to create value-added content is to write about topics you know about. In addition, this will increase theauthority of your site.
  • Talking to your target audience: Articles are there to generate traffic, capture and captivate your audience. The goal behind your blog will be to convert users into customers. The best way to do this is to define your persona and answer the questions your target audience may have. Your blog posts need to be tailored (target query, language, etc.) to people who could become customers.
  • Talking to the web (search engines): Once you have determined your topic and you know how to approach the article, you will have tooptimise itfor the web. Indeed, there are some articles that are very well written, but that do not bring any traffic, no leads and vice versa. The aim is to combine optimised content and natural writing. In order to optimise your content for search engines you can add some keywords from your query in the Title, Meta description, comment space (in response), image names, text, etc.
  • Vary the type of content : Optimising your text is one thing, but search engines like varied content. Add images, diagrams, gifs, or even videos to your articles to reinforce your ideas and further optimise your SEO. The combination of blog post + Youtube video has a double impact because you will be looking for SEO on both Google and Youtube.

How to find a blog post topic?

We've never been short of blog post ideas. Here are some of our favourite techniques for coming up with article ideas for our website's blog.

  • Listen to the questions of its users and/or customers
  • Answer a question you were asking yourself, and for which you have just found the answer
  • Study the market, the trends (see the types of content that work and adapt them to your field of activity)
  • Define your target queries (the queries you want to rank on) and test synonyms
  • Talk about yourself, what you do, your job, your training, your experience, etc.
  • More generally, you have to go by feel, follow your instinct

How to write a blog post quickly?

  • Writing, doing
  • Structure your plan, then fill in the content of the article afterwards
  • Speak simply, in your own words and feel free
  • Make a first complete version and then modify and optimise

To give a more general tip, there are no 50,000 ways to write better articles and what will help you the most is practice. Your first few posts won't be optimal, but it's like anything else, the more you practice, the faster you'll write blog posts and the better they'll perform. Practice makes perfect.
