Webflow Analyze overview

Webflow launches Analyze, a native analysis tool integrated into the Webflow website development platform.

Why and how? How does it work? And what do we think of this feature? Let's find out together in this new article.

1. Introduction

To optimize your site's performance, generate reports, or even "just" stay motivated, it's essential to collect and visualize data on the behavior of your site's visitors.

And for this, there are currently several tools available, such as Google Analytics, which needs no introduction, or Hotjar, which lets you visualize the behavior of your users.

However, integrating these tools often requires code and sometimes even the help of a developer. And once integrated, these tools are sometimes little used because they're difficult to understand, or simply forgotten because they're not easily accessible. (Yes, a few extra clicks to connect to a third-party platform are enough of a disincentive to use them!)

And it's for all these reasons that Webflow is introducing a simplified, native, platform-integrated analysis tool this year : Analyse.

2. Webflow Analyze 2024

Once activated, the tool is accessible from your Webflow dashboard. From this interface, you can :

  1. Enable default tracking for all your visitors
  2. Activate tracking in accordance with RGPD specifications via opt-out.
  3. Disable tracking

At the touch of a button.

Once tracking has been activated, your site will start collecting data, which you can view in a number of ways.

2.1 Main features of Webflow Analyze :

Webflow Analyze offers two preview modes for analyzing your site's performance:

2.1.1 Webflow Analyze application mode

From this interface, accessible directly from your Webflow dashboard, you can :

  • View global data on your website, such as total traffic, most visited pages, country and language of your visitors.
  • Select a specific page to access detailed data specific to that page.

And this targeted mode can also be accessed directly from your page, inside the designer.

2.1.2 The page "Snapshot" mode

Webflow Analyze accessible from on-page

This mode provides a quick overview of the current page's performance, including :

  • Number of clicks. (to generate click event labels, Analyze first checks the internal text of the clicked element)
  • Pages previously or subsequently visited (static or dynamic pages).

In both modes, you can apply filters to refine your analysis:

  • Period: Filter by date.
  • Devices: Filter by type of device used (desktop, mobile, tablet)
⚠️ Every click on a button, link or form is tracked. And it's currently not possible to deactivate button tracking. So if you don't want to track cookies, for example, replace them with Webflow Custom Elements.

Simple, effective filtering.

In short, a set of features that enable you to better understand user behavior and optimize your site accordingly.

But... at what price?

Webflow Analyze price list

Webflow Analyze is available as an add-on for Basic, CMS and Business site plans, with prices based on the number of monthly sessions, starting at $29 per month for 10,000 sessions. From +100k visitors/month, Webflow Analyze becomes an Enterprise feature.

An alternative to Google Analytics? In our opinion.

Plus points:

  • Webflow becomes an all-in-one Digital Experience Platform, where you can control everything from development and evolution to analysis and optimization. Love it.
  • For the long-term future of the tool, it's reassuring to see that Webflow has successfully integrated last year's acquisition of Intelimize, a revenue-generating system.
  • A well-targeted product for marketing teams that don't necessarily have dedicated human resources (data analysts), which makes it easy to understand essential data.
  • (Little plus) The use of color coding to differentiate between dynamic and static pages.

Minuses:

  • We regret the absence of a dual pricing model, with a limited free version and a more advanced paid version.
  • This is a first version, which should improve. What about adding the option to remove certain elements from tracking (e.g. cookies)?

Webflow Analyze is positioned as a simplified data solution compared to more advanced tools, offering a good basis for understanding user behavior and optimizing your site for marketing teams without dedicated website data analysts.

And speaking of optimization, Webflow has also launched Optimize, a solution combining A/B testing and AI to rapidly optimize the performance of your Webflow site . Features we'll be discovering in an upcoming video. So if you don't want to miss a thing, don't forget to subscribe to our Newsletter.
