Here is the technical configuration, computer and accessories, that I use as a Webflow Expert developer. Which one do you think is the best?

Key points to remember

Webflow is a modern alternative to Wordpress that allows you to create no-code websites. So I am what you could call a no-code web developer.

Today I'm going to share with you my technical setup, the computers and accessories I use as a Webflow developer. Actually, I have more like two setups:

  1. 100% agile, my digital nomad setup (Digidop is a company born in full remoote)
  2. Fixed set up, a version for the office

The Webflow developer kit (digital nomad 🌍)

Digidop is a post-covid 19 company born in "full-remoote". We didn't have an office the first year and it wasn't a problem at all. With no-code tools, a good set-up and a wifi connection (or co-share, depending on the location 😂 ) we can work anywhere in the world.

My first configuration is therefore a portable configuration, adapted to the "digital nomad" lifestyle

1 - 14' Macbook pro

It's a Ferrari. No more, no less. A machine that combines beautiful design and power.

2 - Magic Trackpad 2

I love using the Magic trackpad to navigate between my tabs or in the Figma models.

3 - Computer stand

This stand from the brand "Besign" is practical, solid and inexpensive. It allows you to adopt an elevated position, which is more comfortable when you are sitting with your computer somewhere.

The web developer kit (fixed version 🖥 )

A little over a year after the launch of our agency, we had our first premises. We therefore invested in a fixed configuration. It also allows us to be a technical backup, in case of failure on our mobile equipment.

1 - Apple iMac 24

A nice big screen, with 16GB RAM and two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports + Two USB 3 ports

2 - Herman Miller Sayl Chair

A chair that is as beautiful as it is comfortable.

🎁 Little extra, take the lumbar support option.

3- Sit/stand desk - TROTTENT

Architectural desks allow you to sit or stand while you work. A mechanism raises and lowers the top of your desk by means of a handle. This allows you to vary from sitting to standing during the day.

I use the TROTTENT desk from Ikea, which offers good quality at an affordable price.

4 - Micro shure mv7x

This microphone is ideal for :

  • Record tutorials on your Youtube channel
  • Recording looms for clients at project handover

5 - Second screen

The second screen is a real comfort for web developers. With it, you have, for example, the Figma mockup open while using Webflow on your other screen to develop the pages in the designer. This way, you have everything you need, at a glance, without having to switch windows.

For the second screen we chose the Huawei 24' AD80HW PC monitor. The graphic resolution is not great, but the screen is affordable.

6 - Magic trackpad 2

No need for a mouse. No more double scrolling in the pad.

What is the price of a good set up for Webflow?

As you may have guessed, having a good setup comes at a price.

(1) The mobile developer kit cost me an investment of : 2413,99€.

  • 14-inch MacBook Pro: €2,249.00
  • Magic Trackpad: € 135.00
  • Laptop stand: €29.99

(2) The web developer kit to be installed on a desktop is an investment of : 3467,99 €.

  • Apple imac 24': € 1.899,00
  • Herman Miller Sayl chair : 750,00€.
  • TROTTENT office: 239,00 €.
  • Shure mv7x microphone: €285.00
  • Huawei 24' PC monitor: €159.99
  • Magic Trackpad: € 135.00

This amount represents a real investment. Having good hardware is essential if you want to become a "No-Code" designer or a Webflow developer.

Why?

Having a powerful computer will allow you to work much faster and therefore to complete many more projects... And usually you will be paid by the hour or by the project.
