Discover the two methods to change the password of your Webflow editor account (mode) in a few minutes and continue to work safely!

Key points to remember

Webflow has two modes: the designer mode and the editor mode.

The designer mode allows you to develop a project, build pages, add elements and much more. This mode gives you full access to the management of your project.

However, there is also the editor mode which gives a more limited access. By adding Webflow editors in your project, you give them the opportunity to modify the wording of your pages, modify links, images, create items (for example blog posts) and manage some page parameters (SEO). The editor mode allows you to collaborate in Webflow. It is a safer mode for people who don't need to have access to the Designer or who may be "afraid" to break everything on the site.

Today we will show you 2 methods to change the password of your editor account.

Method 1: Lost or forgotten password

If you have forgotten your editor account password, don't panic! You can reset it by going to the editor mode login page (https://www.votre-nom-de-domaine?edit)

Then, just click on"Forgot it?"above the password field, enter your email address (the one of your Webflow editor account) and click on"Send Reset Email".

You will then receive an email inviting you to set a new password.

Method 2: Wish to change your password

You can also change your password for security reasons or simply because you want to.

To do this, you will have to connect to the editor mode.

Inside the editor mode, you will have to :

  • Click on the settings tab
  • Click on your account
  • Go to the Change Password section
  • Enter your old password
  • Set a new password
  • Save by clicking on "Save Changes
