The official French version of Client-First! Entirely translated by Thibaut and Florian, find the documentation on the class naming strategy for Webflow in French.
Webflow (and no-code in general) is not accessible. This is a fact. Why is that?
Because 99% of the quality content around this universe is in English. It is therefore (almost) impossible for non-English speakers to learn.
It is from this observation that the vision of Digidop was born: to make the technological lever that is no-code accessible to the French-speaking community.
And today, we are announcing the release of a strategic resource that takes us one step closer to achieving our vision.
The French version (translated and adapted) of the Client-First V2 documentation.
What is Client-First?
Client-First is a universal naming methodology for CSS classes in Webflow. Launched almost a year ago by Finsweet, the Client-First method has been democratized in the web development world with Webflow. This success is logical, because the method brings many advantages. Client-First allows you :
- To have an organized webflow site and to optimize the use of the CSS language
- To have a high-performance site, without "unnecessary code". The unnecessary accumulation of CSS classes slows down the performance of your site
- To have a site that integrates all the best practices of web accessibility in 2022 (Learn more about web accessibility)
- To quickly understand the internal construction of your site and thus not to depend on your initial developer
And not only that. There are tons of other good reasons to use this methodology. For your information, Client-First is a mandatory development method at Digidop.
Learn more about the reasons that led our agency to the decision touse Client-First to develop on Webflow.
Why did you translate Client-First into French?
Digidop is on a mission: to make webflow learning accessible to the French community. And many of you shared with us your desire to learn more about Client-First (and we encourage you to do so because Client-First is, in our opinion, the most efficient way to develop in Webflow).
But.... documentation is :
- A dense documentation
- Only in English.
Two factors, which create obvious barriers to entry. As an ex-participant of the first bootcamp (only 5 people) for the Client-First certification, I discussed this issue with Joe Krug. And.... here we go!
Client-First has been officially translated into French by Digidop !
And guess what? This initiative has had a snowball effect. Requests for translation have skyrocketed in dozens of countries and Client-First will now be translated into more than 20 different languages this year.
The Client-First development methodology will therefore officially be democratized on a global level.
The authors of the French version of Client-First
The translation was done by Thibaut Legrand and myself. Then we were helped by Anna, for a proofreading and an accessible integration in the Webflow CMS. A real team work.
A thousand thanks to them, for what they did for the French webflow community, it was a huge job.
How to discover the French version of Client-First?
The documentation is available for free and in full on the official Finsweet website.
