We have created a training platform on Webflow: the Digidop academy. The digidop academy, more than a website, an online training platform created 100% with the no-code Webflow tool.
You've seen it... Digidop has unveiled the Digidop Academy. An online training platform built 100% on the no-code Webflow website creation tool. Discover in this articlethe tools we used and how we created the front and back office on Webflow.
1. The tools we used
Finally, very little.
1.1 Webflow (for the site 💜)
Obviously we used Webflow to build the online training platform 💜.
1.2 Loom (registration tool)
More than a productivity tool, ,we used the Loom application to record our videos in 4K, for only a few euros per month.
1.3 Imovie (video editing tool)
Easy to use and efficient. Imovie allowed us to realize our needs for the editing of training videos.
1.4 Vimeo (hosting platform)
Vimeo is a hosting platform (paying and quite expensive) to host all our videos. Why didn't we use Youtube (free and complete) this time? Find out further down in the article.
Bonus 🎁 : the Window Resizer plugin
A very useful plugin for formatting your screen when you save your screen with Loom.
2. How to structure the site?
A Digicalidad front-end with a design made on Figma by Thomas Labonne. But above all, a well structured CMS to organize all the training content directly on Webflow.
2.1 The structure of our Webflow CMS
- A static page
- 2 dynamic pages
- 3 Collections
A static page
This web page gathers all our training
2 dynamic pages
A web page for the chapters, and a page for each course. All the content of these "template" pages is fed directly from the Webflow back-office, called the CMS. Learn more about the features of the webflow CMS.
3 CMS collections
- Chapter
- Training
- Part
2.2 Hosting our videos
We have hosted our videos on vimeo, mainly to avoid Youtube ads during your training.
Once on vimeo, each video has a unique URL link that you can integrate into your Webflow CMS. Each dynamic training page now has its own video.
Go further?
We have left the entire content of our training platform developed on Webflow free and accessible to all. But we could have blocked the access to the trainings only to paying users.
For that it would have been enough for us to :
- Activate member space restrictions on our training pages
- Activate an e-commerce plan on Webflow
