In the Webflow Designer, we can now find the items of our collections more easily and quickly thanks to the CMS filtering system!
During the Webflow Conf' 2022, an announcement went a bit unnoticed next to the other big announcements (libraries, variable fonts, membership, multilingual, component, apps, etc.), but we can now in the Webflow CMS find our items more easily.
Item filtering options in collections
In addition to being able to filter our CMS items by Status :
- All: All items
- Published: Published
- Draft: Draft
- Scheduled: Programmed
- Archived: Archived
We now have other possibilities to edit the dynamic content of our website with ease.
1. Published : Filtering according to the publication of the items
From now on, in the Designer, we can easily find the items that were last published either in the last 24 hours, the last 7 days or the last 30 days.
2. Created : Filtering according to the creation of the items
We can also show only the items that were created on :
- Last 24 hours
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
3. Modified : Filtering according to the modification of the items
Finally, we can more easily see the items that were last modified a day ago (24h), a week ago (7d) or a month ago (30d).
How to filter items in the Webflow CMS?
We will show you how to show only those items in your collection that meet the filtering options above.
Step 1: Login to the Webflow Designer
To be able to filter your items, you need to have access to the Designer mode of a Webflow project.
Step 2: Open the CMS
Then, you will have to click on theCMS icon on the left side of the Designer (below the pages).
Step 3: Select a collection
Once in the CMS, all your collections will be displayed. Select the collection in which you want to find an item / filter the items.
Step 4: Choose your filter options
Once in the collection, you will see all the items it contains. In the top bar, next to the item search bar, you will find a filter icon . Just click on it and choose the filter(s) you want to apply. In fact, you can combine the filter options (Status, Published, Created, Modified).
In our example, we want to search for items published (Status), less than 7 days ago (Published), created less than 30 days ago (Created) and modified in the last 24 hours (Modified).
By clicking on"Apply Filter", you can confirm the filtering and find the items that meet all these criteria at the same time. You can reset the filtering by clicking on"Reset".
Now you can optimize your management time in Webflow thanks to these new features.
