Key points to remember

The no code Webflow tool allows us to use many elements to structure and develop our website. The Rich Text editor is one of them.

This element will allow us to easily create and style a content block for a website. The particularity of this Rich Text content block is that it is possible to add elements of different types. Such as text, images, videos, links, embed code, lists, etc.

We will see together the advantages of this element and how to use it.

The advantages of Rich Text in a Webflow project

  • Ease of use: You can quickly and easily format your text with the built-in formatting toolbar
  • Collaboration: You can easily share your Webflow project with others and work together on your website content.
Rich Text is compatible with many common file formats, making it easy to share and collaborate on projects.
  • Flexibility in text formatting, allowing you to use colors, different fonts, variable text sizes, underlining, bold, italics, bulleted lists, alignments, margins and many other formatting elements to bring your content to life.

What are the common uses of Rich Text in Webflow?

In the various static pages of the site

The Webflow Rich Text Editor is particularly useful for creating content within static pages throughout the site.

For example, you can:

  • create content for your "About" or "Legal" page
  • formatting bulleted lists and links

In the collections (dynamic pages)

In your collections you can add a Rich Text field to an item and fill it with text. It is then possible to connect the Rich Text field to the dynamic Rich Text field of a dynamic page

  • if you want to format your text in an advanced way,
  • if you need flexibility in creating collection items
  • if you are looking for an easy to use formatting solution
  • to significantly reduce the number of fields

→ Indeed, creating formatted text fields in your collection can be handy if you need to create collection items with different content each time. For example, if you have a collection of blog posts and you want to have posts with formatted text, you can add a Rich Text field for each post.
