1. Background
- Industry: Tech
- Country: France
- Company type: SaaS
- Tools used: Figma, Webflow, and social networks (YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram...)
2. Who is Weglot?
Weglot is a SaaS tool for making any website multilingual via "no-code" integration. The French startup launched in 2016 now has over X users and generates X MRR.
Its solution is based on a "Plug & Play" principle, enabling any website owner to translate, manage and obtain international SEO results for their website.
3. Project issues with Digidop
- Acquire new users: Historically present with integrators, the solution is only rarely used by designers, so this is the starting point for a new idea.
- Federating a user base (Webflow Integrator): although Webflow has recently released a Lozalization feature, Weglot remains a popular alternative to native functionality. Updating
- Evolve technical integration on Webflow: Weglot's integration method on Webflow has not evolved since 2020, even though the tool and its practices have changed considerably since then.
- Gain media visibility: Take advantage of Digidop 's reach to gain visibility with agencies and freelancers who use or recommend the solution.
As you can imagine, this is a project with many challenges. But since 2023, in parallel with the agency, we've been developing our own Webdesign media. 2 professions with ideal synergies to meet the needs of our customer, Weglot.
4. Strategy and solutions
The aim of this collaboration was therefore to unite existing users - developers and integrators - of the Webflow solution by simplifying its integration method, and also to influence new prescribers of translation solutions by reassuring them of Weglot's relevance, performance and ease of integration into their projects.
To achieve this, we combined the creation of free "template" resources for the community, educational content in different formats, and mass distribution of these resources via our social networks, newsletters and various web platforms.
1. Design and development of "Templates" resources
Our team has designed 5 new "Language Switchers" components with original designs and a demonstration site, presenting both these new components and their translation functions.
Then we made these two files freely clonable as a "Template".
2. Creating educational content
A complete blog article combined with two educational videos, one figma, one Webflow, share for free on the YouTube channel of Digidop
- Complete blog article (challenges, collaboration, how to)
- Figma video
- Video comparing multilingual options for Webflow sites in 2024
- How To Webflow video
3. JavaScript integration evolution
JavaScript code can complicate integration, and therefore the adoption of a solution. To evolve the Weglot integration on Webflow, we worked in collaboration with their development teams to leverage our knowledge of Webflow and its usage habits to create the simplest possible integration experience.
4. Media distribution
- Social networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube
- Web platforms: Forum, Figma Community, Made in Webflow
- Newsletter: Weglot General Newsletter, Weglot Agency Newsletter, Newsletter Digidop
Result
- The project has created positioning opportunities for Weglot.
- Results in 6 months.
